В задании приводится некое утверждение. Вам нужно написать сочинение-рассуждение, в котором вы выражаете собственное мнение касательно данного утверждения (opinion essay).

НАПИСАНИЕ ЭССЕ В ЕГЭ 2018 ГОДА ПО АНГЛИЙСКОМУ ЯЗЫКУ

Эссе должно быть чётко структурировано и включать в себя следующие части (каждая начинается с нового абзаца):

1. Вступление. Здесь вы должны обозначить проблему, указанную в задании. Важно перефразировать её, а не переписать слово в слово. Например, задание «In order to get a good adecation one should go abroad” можно переформулировать так: “Nowadays, the problem of studying abroad causes great argument and controversy” . Также следует дополнить этот тезис небольшим комментарием-пояснением. Закончить вступление можно риторическим вопросом.
2. Выражение собственного мнения. В данном абзаце необходимо тезисно отразить ваше личное отношение к данной проблеме и подкрепить его 2-3 развернутыми аргументами. Важно, чтобы доводы были убедительными, ёмкими и логичными. Аргументы вводятся с помощью универсальных слов-связок и фраз.
3. Выражение противоположного мнения. Третий абзац эссе должен содержать точку зрения оппонента. Этот тезис также необходимо подкрепить 1-2 аргументами. Важно, чтобы аргументов у оппонента было на 1 меньше (т.е., если во 2-м абзаце у вас три аргумента, в 3-м должно быть два), потому что наша цель – доказать собственную правоту.
4. Несогласие с мнением оппонентов. Здесь следует опровергнуть мнение оппонента, выразить свое несогласие и подкрепить его 1-2 контраргументами. Помните, что вы приводите контраргументы к доводам оппонента, их количество должно быть одинаковым (2 аргумента оппонента = 2 ваших контраргумента).
5. Заключение. Последний абзац должен содержать обобщенный вывод касательно обсуждаемого вопроса, который также дополняется комментарием. Можно использовать универсальную фразу, которая заставит читателя задуматься над проблемой.

With each loss of a language comes a loss of a culture, a loss of a way of life that deserves to be protected and treated as valuable. I also believe that leaving one language for communication will greatly reduce the linguistic diversity of our planet, which is the key to our survival. Many people think that if we have only one language, communication will become easier and there will be no need to learn foreign languages. In conclusion, I would argue that we should try our best to preserve the linguistic diversity of our planet. I think that larger cultures should have a respect for minority languages, but first of all the younger generation must want to preserve their native language.

There are a lot of zoos in the world and millions of people visit them every year. But are zoos harmful or helpful to animals which are caged there?

I strongly believe that we should not keep animals in zoos because captivity is not natural for them and it is a constant stress to a wild animal. Keeping animals in zoos harms them by denying them freedom of movement and association. What is more, zoos are like prisons for animals as they live in small cages and do not get necessary food. In addition, animals become very aggressive and unpredictable as they get older and often attack zoo keepers and other people.

However, most people think that zoos help endangered species survive. But this is not true because most rare animals are extremely difficult to breed in captivity. Besides, in zoos, it is almost impossible to meet the animals’ natural needs. Another argument for keeping animals in zoos is that people learn something new about these animals. Actually, zoos do not teach us much because animals do not act the way they would in the wild. I think we can learn more about animals by watching wildlife programs on TV.

In conclusion, I would argue that zoos do not seem to help endangered species and keeping animals behind bars only for the sake of our entertainment is not quite fair. In my opinion, people must create nature reserves, where wild animals will be able to live in their natural environment.

There is no doubt that the invention of the car changed the world and nowadays we can hardly find a family without a car. Nevertheless, some people are against cars, especially in the centers of big cities.

In my opinion, cars should not be allowed into the city centers as they add to pollution and poison the air we breathe. We must also think about the people who live in the center and suffer from the noise made by cars. Moreover, the streets in the center are usually narrow therefore people are often stuck in traffic for many hours and, as a result, arrive late at their destination. Finally, with ho cars in city centers, there would be no need for large ugly car parks, which would allow more space for parks.

However, many people believe we would not be able to survive without cars because most of the products for shops and other businesses are transported by cars. Besides, they are afraid that public transport would be overloaded. I am sure it is possible to solve these problems by introducing a reliable high frequency tram service as well as developing the underground. As for goods, we could use electric vehicles for their delivery.

To sum up, I believe that a clean, reliable and environmentally friendly public service would encourage people to use public transport and help smooth the transition to a car-free zone.

Nowadays people spend lots of money in order to go to an English-speaking country to improve their language skills. But is it really the most effective way of learning a language? In my view, studying in a foreign country has certain drawbacks.

Firstly, this way is very expensive as the tuition fee for overseas students is rather high. Besides, when you study abroad, you have to adapt to a very different way of life, which can be quite stressful. What is more, English teachers do not speak Russian so if you don’t know English well, you will not understand their explanation.

It is often assumed that it is better to study a language abroad because you can always use it speaking with native speakers. However, I doubt that we will have lots of opportunities to speak abroad as we do not know many people there. It is also believed that Russian teachers are not as qualified as those in England. I totally disagree with this opinion because Russian teachers can compare two languages and explain grammar rules better.

To sum up, I would argue that the best way to learn a language is to study it in your native country because you can always get the necessary help from your teachers. Moreover, today we have lots of opportunities to improve our skills such as communicating with English pen-friends over the Internet. I think that we should travel abroad so as to practise a language but not to study it.

Most people understand that without knowledge of foreign languages it is difficult to survive in the modern world. Therefore they send their children to schools where they can study two or even three foreign languages. However, is it good to study several languages simultaneously?

On the one hand, foreign languages are the main part of our culture so they help us to expand our outlook. We cannot broaden our minds if we see the world only from the perspective of our own culture. In addition, learning languages is a good exercise for the intellect. Moreover, if pupils know at least one foreign language, they learn new languages much faster.

On the other hand, many pupils find it confusing to learn two or three languages at a time, especially languages that are similar, because children usually mix up lots of words. Besides, some languages are tricky enough to learn. For example, in English there are more exceptions than rules. In this case, children can be overloaded with homework. More than that, some pupils do not know their native language well and learning several foreign languages could prevent them from mastering their own language.

In conclusion, I want to say that learning languages is extremely beneficial and I would like to know different foreign languages. However, I believe children should not learn too many languages at the same time so as not to get confused. They ought to get a solid base in one language before they start learning a new one.

We live in the age of information technology and nowadays the Internet is nearly as common as the telephone. No doubt that it is a unique invention, which has influenced all areas of our lives. However, some people consider the Internet one of the greatest evils of our time.

On the one hand, the Internet is very useful, because it lets us access a world of facts, figures and knowledge. In addition, with the Internet, it is now possible to speak to friends and relatives any-where in the world cheaply and quickly. Other services are also available through the Internet such as booking tickets or buying things. Moreover, the Internet allows a lot of talented people to show the world their achievements and makes it easier to find a job.

On the other hand, the Internet can become a disaster for our society, because people spend hours in front of their computers and neglect their everyday duties. Another worry is the activities of cybercriminals. For example, hackers can steal your money or even your property while cyberterrorists may ‘attack’ the world’s computers, causing chaos, and making planes and trains crash. What is more, leaders of different terrorist or oppositional organizations can use the Internet to find new followers.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that despite the criticisms by some and the fears of others, the Internet seems to have changed our world to the better and we must try to make the best use of it.

Recent advances in genetic biology have led us to quite a doubtful situation. People all over the world argue whether human cloning research should be controlled by the government as solving problems connected with human cloning is definitely not a piece of cake.

In my opinion, human cloning experiments are extremely dangerous because there are huge risks of abnormalities in human clones. Moreover, if clones have been made, they will obviously have serious psychological problems connected with their unusual birth. Finally, there is no doubt that human cloning will change our perception of what is the value of a human life as we might change from having children to manufacturing them.

However, scientists claim that human cloning could be very beneficial as therapeutic cloning could provide stem cells for regenerative medicine and tissues for transplantation. Besides, re-productive cloning will probably give parents who are both infertile an opportunity to have children. I am afraid that this technology is not safe enough to use on humans. It is also possible that clones will age quicker since the cell used in the cloning procedure has already been used in a real life individual.

To sum up, we must question whether human cloning is really worth it when weighed against the problems it raises. From my point of view, human reproductive cloning should be under the tight control of the government and the UN because it is dangerous to interfere with nature and the consequences can be really disastrous.

Книги или компьютеры. Кто победит в будущем

The latest advances in information technology make people think that schools of the future will use computers instead of printed books. Although electronic books have not been widely accepted yet, they have certain advantages over traditional paper volumes. But will they be able to replace printed books?

In my opinion, students will be widely using computers for studying in the future. To begin with, computers can store lots of books in their memory and modern software allows us to find quickly the necessary information. Besides, with the interactive programs on computers studying will be much more exciting. What is more, electronic books will not degrade overtime like their printed counterparts.

On the other hand, lots of disbelievers argue that computers will not replace printed books because a printed book is better for human eyes than a computer screen. In addition, books are cheaper and easier to use since they do not need electricity or the Internet connection. I cannot agree with this because modern computer screens emit no radiation and allow us to read even in low light conditions. Of course we will have to pay for electricity but I think it will be cheaper than to pay for printed books, which are very expensive nowadays.

To sum up, I think computers and printed books will peacefully coexist for years to come, but in the future technological progress will make it possible for students to carry laptops or even palmtops instead of traditional bags with lots of heavy books.

People have always had different hobbies but technological progress has caused the appearance of computers and computer games, which can keep a child occupied for hours. However, adults consider computer games a complete waste of time.

As for me, I believe computer games are more than mindless entertainment. To begin with, computer games can teach people to achieve their aims as they regularly put obstacles and traps in the way of players which are necessary to overcome in order to progress through the rest of the game. Additionally, computer games can be a valuable source of accidental learning that can be applied to school, home, and social events. Moreover, teachers have also started to appreciate educational games as an opportunity to make their lessons more exciting.

Nevertheless, quite a few people are against this activity as they find it rather addictive and harmful for children’s health. They argue that computer games make students neglect their school work. However, if we learn to control our computer use and play games for an hour just to relax after a hard day at school, this will not do us any harm. What is more, modern technology made it possible to eliminate the bad effect of computers on our eyes.

To sum up, I believe that computer games have more advantages than drawbacks. They make us persistent, develop our logical reasoning and help us to escape from everyday problems. The thing is to find a right balance between virtual reality and everyday reality.

Космос. За и против исследований в космосе

Space exploration can mean a major leap for mankind. However, it is often criticized because the price for these space experiments is too high, especially while poverty still exists in many parts of the world.

On the one hand, space research is extremely beneficial as it advances technology. As a result of this work, we have lots of inventions, which have made our lives much more comfortable. In addition, through the exploration of space, we could find new elements, minerals or even discover new laws of physics and eventually learn more about ourselves. What is more, space exploration will allow us to establish a human civilization on another planet as a hedge against the catastrophe that might occur on the Earth.

On the other hand, the benefits of space exploration are not self-evident, no matter how real they are. It costs billions of dollars to fund the projects of space science whereas this money should rather be spent on meeting the needs of the underprivileged. Besides, some of the technology we develop through space science can be used in a destructive manner if it is in the wrong hands. Finally, a travel to space can be dangerous as we may discover something that is extremely harmful for the living beings on Earth.

To conclude, I want to say that space exploration satisfies the human desire for adventure therefore most people are interested in space research. Nevertheless, I believe our governments should find the right balance between social and space programs.

ПРАВИЛА НАПИСАНИЯ ЭССЕ В ЕГЭ

• Считайте слова

Обязательно нужно уложиться в заданный объём: 200-250 слов (допускается отклонение на 10% в обе стороны, т.е. 180-275 слов). Если в эссе ≤179 слов, то за задание ставится 0 баллов. Если ≥276 слов, то проверяются только первые 250 слов. Помните, что 1 слово – это всё, что находится между двумя пробелами. Дефисы (-), и апострофы (’) не являются пробелами, поэтому слова из разряда world’s, open-minded, UK, считаются за одно слово. Тренируйтесь писать письма на экзаменационных бланках – так вы научитесь на глазок определять количество слов и будете меньше тратить времени на их подсчёт.

• Пишите в официальном стиле

Нельзя использовать сокращения (только полные формы I am , cannot ), а также начинать предложения с неформальных слов-связок well, also , but ). Используйте безличные формы глагола (one should ). Богатый словарный запас и разноообразие грамматических и синтаксических конструкций демонстрирует высокий уровень знания английского языка.

• Правильно рассчитайте время

На выполнение этого задания выделите себе 40 минут: 20 минут на черновик, 15 мин. на чистовик и 5 мин. на подсчёт слов и проверку. Обязательно проверьте эссе перед сдачей!

Верьте в себя, и всё получится! Удачи на экзаменах!

Без особых прикрас можно сказать, что в экзамене ЕГЭ по английскому языку эссе является наиболее трудной задачей. Как можно правильно выразить свою мысль, дать ей логические аргументы, подкрепить их примерами и объяснениями, и при этом грамотно и без ошибок оформить текст, да еще и не выйти за пределы по количеству слов? В этой статье мы постараемся разобрать структуру эссе и дать советы по улучшению качества Вашего эссе.

Начнем с конца. Написанное Вами эссе будет оцениваться по следующим критериям:

Максимальное количество баллов, которое Вы можете получить за эссе – 14 баллов.

Перед тем как задумываться о правильном выполнении каждого критерия, сначала давайте сделаем наше эссе по английскому языку пригодным для проверки. Самое главное здесь – объем.

Формально Ваше эссе по английскому языку должно уложиться в 200-250 слов. Это не надо воспринимать буквально и паниковать, если Вы написали 198 слов. Однако, имейте в виду, что эссе не будет проверяться, если количество слов в нем менее 180. Если же у Вас получится более 275 слов, то проверяющий отсчитает от начала эссе 250 слов, отчертит остальное и проверит всё вплоть до черты. То есть, при первом раскладе Вы теряете всё эссе; при втором, скорее всего, потеряете заключение, что тоже немаловажно.

Прежде всего, Ваше эссе по английскому языку должно осветить ВСЕ аспекты, изложенные в задании, а также должно быть написанным в соответствующем стиле (нейтральном). Оно должно логично делиться на абзацы и соответствовать предложенному в задании плану.

Чтобы не запутаться в процессе написания Вашего эссе, надо потратить 5-7 минут на обдумывание плана и подготовку всех аргументов. Традиционно мы будем делить эссе на пять абзацев.

Абзац 1. Вступление

Здесь должна быть постановка проблемы. Поскольку постановка проблемы уже изложена в задании, Ваша задача – грамотно её пересказать. Именно ПЕРЕСКАЗАТЬ, а не перефразировать.

Совет: Не перечитывайте задание 10 раз, пока формулировки не вдолбятся Вам в голову. Тогда писать вступление своими словами будет очень и очень трудно. Прочитайте данную в задании ситуацию один или два раза, убедитесь, что Вы правильно её поняли. Закройте готовую ситуацию и попытайтесь её пересказать на английском языке именно так, как Вы её поняли, как будто Вы рассказываете об этом другу, который не понял, о чём там шла речь. ВНИМАНИЕ: после того как Вы это сделали, обязательно откройте ситуацию и убедитесь, что Ваш пересказ по сути совпадает с данной Вам ситуацией. Теперь можно ехать дальше.

Вместо банальных “Some people think, ... Others think, ... ” можно использовать:

Some people claim that ..., while others argue that ...

После того как Вы описали суть проблемы, можно задать непосредственно вопрос, на который Вы и будете отвечать в своём эссе. Например: “What is better: ... or ...?”, “What should we do: ... or ...?” и т.д. В 2018 году вышло уточнение, которое отнесло риторические вопросы к стилистическим ошибкам. Поэтому их мы не используем.

Последним предложением вступительного абзаца Вы должны поставить цель Вашего эссе. Это можно сделать, например, так:

In this essay I will try to look upon this issue.
In this essay I will try to express my opinion on this issue.
In this essay I would like to express my point of view on this issue.
In this essay I will try to answer this question. (Это наиболее простой вариант, если предыдущие два Вам вспомнить будет трудно, вспомните его)

Абзац 2. Ваше мнение

Начать этот абзац логичнее всего с высказывания Вашей позиции касательно данного вопроса. Полезные фразы (обязательно соблюдайте данную пунктуацию!):

In my opinion, ...
From my point of view, ...
To my mind, ...
Personally, I think that ...
I am certain that ... (Обратите внимание! Мы не сокращаем: пишем I am...)
As far as I am concerned, ...

Далее надо дать 2-3 аргумента, подтверждающие Вашу точку зрения. Аргументы могут быть любые, если Вы их грамотно истолкуете. То есть такие, чтобы с ними сложно было поспорить (в разумных пределах, разумеется).

Совет: Лучше дать 2 аргумента и подробно их оправдать и привести примеры в их поддержку, чем 3 кратких и не полностью раскрытых. Помните, что количество слов в эссе ограничено.

Здесь не надо забывать про средства логической связи предложений. Первый аргумент хорошо начать с:

Firstly, ...
To start with, ...
To begin with, ...
First of all, ...

После того как Вы сформулировали первый аргумент, надо его подтвердить и/или дать пример в подтверждение. Вот самые простые модели, как это можно сделать:

<аргумент>, because ...
<аргумент>. That is why ...
<аргумент>. For example, ...

Если Вы начинали словом “Firstly, ...” , то второй аргумент следует начать словом Secondly, ...

Если первый аргумент шел с фразами “To start with, ...”, “To begin with, ...”, то второй можно начать следующими словами:

Moreover, ...
Furthermore, ...
Besides, ...
In addition, ...

Второй аргумент надо также подкрепить примером или доказательством.

Абзац 3. Противоположное мнение

Начинать абзац Вы будете с постановки противоположного мнения по предложенной теме или вопросу. Сделать это можно так:

Others believe that ...
Some people argue that ...
However, some people think that ...

Далее следуют 1-2 аргумента, подтверждающие противоположное мнение. Советую изначально подумать о двух. А уж сколько в итоге написать: 1 или 2 – решите в процессе, исходя их получающегося размера Вашего эссе.

Совет: Противоположные аргументы Вам потом предстоит оспорить, поэтому, придумывая их изначально, продумывайте, как Вы будете их оспаривать. Если на придуманный аргумент Вам нечем возразить, лучше сразу его заменить на другой, чтобы не делать это во время написания эссе. Оно ведь тоже ограничено!

Совет: При оспаривании аргументов, Вы не должны повторять ничего из написанного во втором абзаце. Поэтому, если у Вас не получается придумать контраргумент, не повторяясь, попробуйте придумать что-то другое. Как вариант, Вы можете придумать другие аргументы «за», пока сочинение еще не написано. В любом случае, лучше это продумать изначально, пока Вы составляете план эссе, нежели чем в процессе написания!

Абзац 4. Ваши контраргументы

Суть этого абзаца – объяснить, почему Вы не согласны с противоположным мнением. Начать абзац можно, например, с предложения:

I cannot agree with this opinion because ...
I am afraid I cannot agree with this idea because ...
Немного странно звучит “I am afraid”, а не “I"m afraid”, но лучше не сокращать, т.к. за это можно поплатиться драгоценными баллами.

ВНИМАНИЕ: если Вы дали два аргумента в предыдущем абзаце, то и опровергнуть надо обязательно оба. Разграничить их можно следующими фразами:

As for ...,
Speaking about ...,
As far as ... is concerned,

Совет: При опровержении противоположных аргументов лучше всего предлагать пути их решения, а не доказывать их недееспособность. Например, если кто-то считает, что домашние животные опасные, то не надо утверждать, что они, на самом деле, безобидные. Лучше обратить этот недостаток в достоинство, сказав, что зато они являются отличными охранниками в загородных домах.

Абзац 5. Заключение

Самая частая ошибка многих учеников: в заключении они просто высказывают свое мнение. Этого не достаточно. Ведь заключение относится ко всему эссе, а не только ко второму абзацу.

Таким образом, в заключении надо суммировать всё, о чем говорилось в эссе и выразить свою точку зрения. Также можно дать свои рекомендации по существующей проблеме. Самое главное: в заключении не должно быть никакой новой информации.

Далее даём читающему понять, что существует две точки зрения на данную проблему, и несмотря на противоположную точку зрения, мы всё-таки придерживаемся своей. Например, сделать это можно по следующей схеме:

Taking into consideration different opinions on this issue, I believe that ...

Языковое оформление эссе

После того как Вы написали ЕГЭ эссе по английскому, обязательно пересмотрите его еще раз на предмет возможных ошибок. Из моего опыта наиболее частых ошибок, советую обратить внимание на следующие вещи.

Запорожцы, которые на этой картине пишут письмо турецкому султану, и представить себе не могли, что их потомки в 21 веке будут испытывать не меньше трудностей при написании эссе по английскому языку для ЕГЭ.

Как обойти все подводные камни и написать задание 40 на заветные 14 баллов – в моей статье!

Общая информация

Задание 40 на ЕГЭ по английскому является заданием повышенного уровня сложности и официально носит название “развернутое письменное высказывание с элементами рассуждения (ваше мнение)”. Для краткости, нашей сестры, в статье буду называть этого зверя просто “эссе” или “сочинение”.

Вот как оно выглядит:

Эссе – задание вкусное, потому что может принести 14 баллов на экзамене. И если рекомендую писать сразу на чистовик, чтобы сэкономить время, сочинение лучше распланировать и написать на черновик, а потом перенести в бланк ответов (скачать такой можно тут – ).

Из демоверсии ЕГЭ 2019 с сайта ФИПИ видно, что теперь ученик может выбрать любую из двух предложенных тем эссе!

Критерии оценки

Чтобы понять, как писать нужно , ознакомимся с критериями оценивания задания 40 с сайта ФИПИ .

Решение коммуникативной задачи

Как видите, по критерию “решение коммуникативной задачи” можно максимум получить 3 балла . Расшифрую за что их дают:

• Эссе написано по плану
• В эссе достаточно слов
• Стиль нейтральный

План написания сочинения заботливо дан в самом задании (см. выше):
– make an introduction (state the problem)
– express your personal opinion and give 2–3 reasons for your opinion
– express an opposing opinion and give 1–2 reasons for this opposing opinion
– explain why you don’t agree with the opposing opinion
– make a conclusion restating your position

Количество слов , необходимое для получения максимального балла, также указано – “Write 200-250 words” . Допустимо отклонение от заданного объема на 10%. То есть, можно написать от 180 до 275 слов . Achtung! Внимание! Если напишите меньше 180 слов, эссе проверять не будут – эксперт поставит 0 за решение коммуникативной задачи, а 0 за этот пункт означает 0 за все задание. И довольный учитель проверяет на 1 сочинение меньше. А если ученик превысит порог в 275 слов, эксперт отчеркнет 250-е слово и дальше просто проверять не будет. То есть, если за 250 словами остались контраргументы или заключение, они просто не будут засчитаны и максимум за этот критерий вам не видать.

Про критерии подсчета слов . При определении соответствия объёма представленной работы вышеуказанным требованиям считаются все слова, с первого слова по последнее, включая вспомогательные глаголы, предлоги, артикли, частицы. При этом:
 числительные, выраженные цифрами, т.е. 1, 25, 2009, 126 204 и т.п., считаются как одно слово;
 числительные, выраженные цифрами, вместе с условным обозначением процентов, т.е. 25%, 100% и т.п., считаются как одно слово;
 числительные, выраженные словами, считаются как слова;
 сложные слова, такие как good-looking, well-bred, English-speaking, twenty-five, считаются как одно слово;
 сокращения, например USA, e-mail, TV, CD-rom, считаются как одно слово.

Нейтральный стиль соблюден, если в задании 40 нет сокращений (I’m sure/ doesn’t matter/ wasn’t stated) и разговорной лексики (it is stupid to think so/ this opinion sucks/ the people wearing such clothes are mad).

Еще при написании сочинения настойчиво советую избегать риторических вопросов (But have you ever wondered … ?), потому что мнение г-жи Вербицкой по поводу их использования непостоянно – один год их можно использовать, другой год – нельзя. Также я бы не рекомендовала писать фразу, которая начинается с Let’s … . Она может быть расценена как разговорная. Better safe than sorry.

Еще одно замечание в пункте про коммуникативную задачу – про плагиат . Если более 30% ответа совпадает с опубликованным источником, то выставляется 0 баллов по критерию «Решение коммуникативной задачи», и, соответственно, всё задание оценивается в 0 баллов. Так что заучивать отрывки из топиков смысла не имеет, придется думать самостоятельно.

Организация текста

Максимум по этому критерию – также 3 балла . Их можно получить если:

• сочинение правильно разделено на абзацы
• эссе логично и в нем есть средства логической связи

Понятно, что нужно писать столько абзацев, сколько есть в плане (пять абзацев! ) и каждый должен передавать мыслю, соответствующую этому пункту плана.

Ниже подробнее о том, что нужно писать в этих пяти абзацах и какие средства логической связи в них использовать.

Вступление (параграф №1)

“Правильное” вступление состоит из 2-3 предложений и перефразирует заявленную тему, а также показывает на существование двух противоположных точек зрения по проблеме.

Возьмем тему из задания выше – Making a good salary is more important than job satisfaction .

Вступительный параграф, приведенный абзацем ниже, перефразирует тему (career choice is one of the most important decisions in our life ; it is essential to love what you do ; whereas others focus on high salary while choosing a future profession ) и указывает на существование разных точек зрения (Some people believe that …, whereas other focus on … ).

Для вступления я бы советовала использовать следующие средства логической связи:

• Some people think/believe/consider that …, whereas other think/believe/consider that …
• The problem / issue / question of… has always aroused heated / sharp disputes /debates / discussions / controversy
• Our modern world is unthinkable / unimaginable / inconceivable without… However, there are plenty of people who believe that it is not necessary / doubt the necessity / importance / use / benefit / good of…
• …gaining increasing popularity today, many still dispute / doubt / challenge / bring into question / cast doubt on its use for the society
• It is often difficult to decide which position to take whenever there is a debate regarding a choice between… and…

В плане сочинения во втором абзаце ученику предлагается высказать свое мнение и привести 2-3 аргумента в его поддержку . Я бы остановилась на двух аргументах “за”, чтобы вписаться в требуемое количество слов. И аргументы “за” должны быть развернутыми – то есть, не просто говорим “думаю так”, а поясняем точку зрения.

Также советую бросаться доказывать не свою точку зрения, а отстаивать позицию, на которую сможете придумать больше аргументов. На этапе тренировки для планирования структуры эссе хорошо бы рисовать mind maps:

На экзамене такая штука тоже вполне пригодится. Помогает собрать мысли в кучу перед тем, как писать на черновик.

В теме про работу за идею или деньги мне проще было найти аргументы о превосходстве духовного над материальным:

Противоположная точка зрения (параграф №3)

В 3 абзаце нужно заявить, что есть и противоположная точка зрения и подкрепить ее аргументами . Их (аргументов) может быть 1 или 2 – все зависит от количества плюсов в предыдущем параграфе. Я придерживаюсь правила “3 плюса во 2 параграфе -1 минус в третьем параграфе”, “2 плюса во 2 параграфе – 2 минуса в 3ем”, иначе в объем слов можно не уложиться. Лично мне больше нравится схема вечером – деньги, утром – стулья 2 аргумента “за” – 2 аргумента “против”.

Вот что у меня получилось с противоположной точкой зрения.

Связки для выражения противоположного мнения .

• However, not all people share my point of view. They say that …
• They assume/ suppose…
• They are in favour of…/ They approve of… / They favour…
• There is another side to the issue/question of …

Контраргументы (параграф №4)

Вот это одна из самых проблемных частей сочинения. Аргументы “за” и “против” придуманы; нужно еще опровергнуть аргументы “против” , которые были представлены в 3 параграфе. И сделать это нейтрально. То есть, писать в стиле тролля с форума “Ишь ты, еще и хорошую зарплату ему подавай! На двух стульях не усидишь!” нельзя. =(

На этапе планирования рисования майнд карт следует продумать, какой довод лучше всего подходит для контраргументации и не писать его в параграфе со своим мнением, а приберечь “на сладкое” – то есть, для четвертого абзаца.

Еще раз подчеркну, что в четвертом абзаце мы именно опровергаем аргументы третьего параграфа, а не придумываем еще аргументы “до кучи”. Противоположное мнение в 3 параграфе говорило о важности денег для удовлетворения материальных потребностей и улучшения уровня жизни. Возразим, что удовольствие от работы и, как следствие, профессионализм, напрямую связаны с размером зарплаты.

Связки для выражения контраргументов.

• To a certain extent it is right, but we should not forget that… / we should consider the fact that… / one should not disregard… / one should take into account …
• However veracious it sounds, I would not agree with the above mentioned idea.
• However, I disagree with these contentions.

Заключение (параграф №5)

В конце выстраданного эссе нужно еще раз заявить о проблемном характере темы (указать на две точки зрения) и своем мнении . Здесь важно не повториться в формулировках и мыслях.

In conclusion I would like to state that work occupies a great part of everyday routine. Evidently, it is more logical to choose an occupation you fancy over the one that brings in only money.

Выражения для завершающего абзаца :

Лексика, грамматика, орфография и пунктуация

С планом написания эссе разобрались, перейдем к грамматическо-лексическому и орфографически-пунктуационному оформлению сочинения. В таблице ниже пояснены критерии оценки этих параметров:

Лексические ошибки

Давайте разберем, какие ошибки носят гордое название “Лексические”. Это:

• неправильно употребленное слово в контексте (I would not speak so вместо I would not say so)
• ошибка в сочетаемости (make homework вместо do homework)
• пропуск слова, если он не влияет на грамматическую структуру предложения (My parents are very well familiar (пропущен предлог with) the topic)
• ошибки в словообразовании, если часть речи не меняется (например, unresponsible вместо irresponsible)
• ошибка в фразовом глаголе (give in smoking вместо give up smoking)
• орфографическая ошибка, которая меняет значение слова (thing вместо think, whether вместо weather)

Но нужно не только не допустить ошибки, нужно помнить, что лексика в эссе должна соответствовать поставленной задаче. То есть, если сочинение про еду – должны употребляются всякие синонимы и выражения по теме “еда”. Лексический состав эссе должен быть разнообразным. Если автор обходится простыми словами и выражениями (I think, I need to say, It’s good/ bad to) или повторяется в лексике, – свадьбы максимум баллов по критерию “лексика” не будет. Для получения заветного балла нужно употреблять коллокации (start doing – take up), фразовые глаголы (meet friends – meet up), заковыристую лексику (think – consider). Например, эссе, приведенное в качестве примера, пестрит устойчивыми выражениями (fulfilling job, be of primary importance, sooner or later ), в нем есть фразовый глагол (bring in ) и синонимичные цепочки career-job-work-occupation/ love – be keen on – be fond of – fancy/ satisfying job – fulfilling job – favourite job/ high salary – material aspect – well-paid job .

Грамматические ошибки

Эксперт при проверке задания 40 выносит на поля грамматическую ошибку, если ошибка:

• в любой грамматической форме, будь то форма глагола, множественного числа сущ., степени сравнения и в любой теме из раздела “Грамматические темы” кодификатора
• в порядке слов в предложении (например, I do not know what are they thinking about. – Во второй части предложения обратный порядок слов, хотя знака вопроса не стоит)
• есть пропуск слова, влияющий на структуру предложения (например, These people wrong. – Отсутствует глагол-связка “are”)
• в словообразовании, если меняется часть речи (например, хотели написать “политик” (politician), а написали politic (политический)

Также, если ученик обходится простыми предложениями, баллы снимаются. В сочинении приветствуются сложные структуры, модальные глаголы, обороты с пассивом/ инфинитивом/ причастиями, условные предложения, главное – не перестараться и ‘не писать все красивое сразу”, в ущерб смыслу. Например, в моем сочинении кроме всяческих сложных предложений присутствуют степени сравнения (the most important, higher ), модальные глаголы (can’t, have to ), пассив (are underpaid or underestimated ), условное предложение (If a person is fond of his work, he will eventually become a professional in his area ), конструкция с прилагательными в сравнительной степени (The more money you have, the better life you can afford ).

Орфографические и пунктуационные ошибки

В сочинении орфографическими ошибками считаются:

• Все ошибки, не меняющие значения слова (например, collegue, becouse, languaege)
  (Если ошибка меняет значение слова, она становится лексической – например, thing вместо think, whether вместо weather)
• Если слово в работе написано один раз правильно, а остальные – неправильно, это считается ошибкой
• Если буква или слово написаны неразборчиво, слово считается написанным неверно

Во всей письменной части экзамена ученик может выбрать либо британский, либо американский вариант написания слова – favourite/ favorite, colour/ color, drugstore/ pharmacy, crisps/ chips. И придерживаться выбранного варианта до конца. То есть, если в одном предложении написано colour, а в другом – favorite, такая вариативность будет записана в число ошибок.

Теперь про пунктуацию . Забудьте про сокращения в эссе (don’t/wouldn’t/mustn’t) – они отнимут у вас баллы. Их можно и нужно писать в письме другу (), но не в сочинении.

И если работа будет написана “как курица лапой” (привет нашим учителям русского языка=)) – то есть, в ней будет много зачеркиваний – эксперт имеет право снизить оценку на полбалла.

Эссе-пример

Making a good salary is more important than job satisfaction .

It is common knowledge that career choice is one of the most important decisions in our life. Some people believe that it is essential to love what you do, whereas others focus on high salary while choosing a future profession.

In my opinion, a satisfying job is a better option. It fills life with positive emotions giving the energy to accomplish different tasks as we manage our daily routine. Another positive aspect of a fulfilling job is that your performance and, consequently, results are higher if you are keen on the task you are doing.

There are people who have the opposite opinion, for them the material aspect is of primary importance. The more money you have, the better life you can afford. Besides, money means opportunities – opportunities for better housing, education, entertainment and simply higher quality of life.

However veracious it sounds, I would not agree with the above mentioned idea. If people are fond of their work, they will eventually become professionals in a chosen area, and specialists are seldom underpaid or underestimated. A favourite job becomes well-paid sooner or later.

In conclusion, I would like to state that work occupies a great part of everyday routine. Evidently, it is more logical to choose an occupation you fancy over the one that brings in only money.

Внимание! Когда будете переписывать свой ответ в экзаменационный бланк, не забудьте в начале написать номер задания – Задание 40. Также с этого года нельзя писать на обороте бланка 2 (то есть того, где нужно писать сочинение). Если у вас что-то не вместилось – а оно не вместится, это я вам гарантирую – просите следующий бланк. Просить следующий бланк советую заранее, потому что они могут закончиться у ассистирующих на экзамене, а поиск новых может занять некоторое время, которое ой как важно.

И организуйте свое время так, чтобы на экзамене вы успели переписать все письменное задание в бланк. Сочинение, написанное на черновик, не проверяется.

Алгоритм написания эссе на экзамене

1. Отводите 60 минут на сочинение.
2. Читаете тему и рисуете mind map по теме. После рисования убедитесь, что все приведенные аргументы четко по теме (не по похожей, которую вы уже писали). Каждый год составители экзамена придумывают что-то новенькое, так что не надейтесь получить тему, с которой уже знакомы и ни в коем случае не соскальзывайте на другую, похожую. Это чревато оценкой “0” за критерий КЗ, то есть оценкой “0” за все задание 40.
3. Прочитайте еще раз свои аргументы и подберите наиболее подходящие аргументы 3-го и 4-го параграфов – то есть, аргументы против и контраргумент к нему.
4. Напишите эссе на черновик. Если у вас осталось мало времени – пишите на чистовик сразу.
5. Проверьте ошибки. Здесь советую вспомнить свои типичные “ляпы” и проверить работу на них.
6. Перепишите на чистовик. Проверьте ошибки, проверьте, что написали “Задание 40” перед эссе.

P.S. – Если вы читаете тему на экзамене и понимаете, что не знаете какое-то слово в теме, не паникуйте! Успокойтесь и попробуйте угадать, как это слово может переводиться.

Подготовка

Готовиться к заданию 40 я бы советовала, когда уровень ученика соответствует хотя бы B1 (идеально – B2, потому что он заявлен как ключ к успеху на ЕГЭ).

C уровнем B1 начинаю подготовку к этому заданию примерно за 6 месяцев до экзамена – сначала разбираем критерии оценки, потом читаем и анализируем эссе прошлых лет, и в конце уже пробуем писать свои сочинения.

Для практики я бы рекомендовала приобрести книгу Хотунцевой, она самая полезная из всех пособий, которые заявляют, что помогут подготовиться к письменной части. Остальные представленные ниже книги тоже неплохие, но книга Хотунцевой – the best.

Ладно, как-то грубо получается. Но в действительности это оказывается правдой. Все мы - русскоговорящие люди, - прекрасно пишем сочинения на русском языке, но вот если дело касается эссе по английскому языку для ЕГЭ — тут у нас начинаются проблемки (мягко сказать). Все дело в том, что мы не следуем их правилам и структуре, а надо бы…

Поэтому сегодня мы будет учиться, как писать сочинение правильно, каким требованиям подчиняться, а также я дам вам готовые эссе, чтобы вы наглядно увидели, как они должны выглядеть.

Что такое эссе и его виды

Начнем, пожалуй, с основного вопроса. Уже, наверное, очевидно, что эссе - это своего рода сочинение на определенную тему. Но все не так просто. Первое, что нужно четко понимать, - это разницу между двумя видами эссе. К ним относятся сочинения, выражающие личное мнение , а также сочинения структуры «за и против» . И вот разницу между ними вы должны знать наизусть.

Требования к эссе

Основное требование к этому заданию в 2017 году - это объем слов. Увы, но вы ограничены количеством в 180-275 слов . Кроме того, ваше сочинение должно быть грамматически корректным, а лексика, естественно, должна соответствовать уровню языка. Использовать слова из уровня Elementary, когда вы пытаетесь сдать экзамен на , не советую.

Также очень важным элементом в оценке качества написанной работы считается его стиль. Да, обычно мы не очень внимательны к этому аспекту. У нас чем «богаче» и «неформальнее» язык ты используешь, тем лучше. Но вот англичане любят четкую структуру, поэтому ничего иного, кроме формального стиля написания я вам не просто не советую, а даже запрещаю!

План эссе

Планы для разных видов эссе также различные.

План эссе «за и против»

Для эссе типа «за-против» обычно используется следующая структура:

• Введение.

Начните с четкого выражения существующей проблемы, а также с предложения, которое выражает двойственность.

• Аргументы «за».

Определитесь с аргументами «за». Выражайте их четко и, главное, не забывать, чтобы они все же были связаны с проблемой.

• Аргументы «против».

Определитесь с аргументами «против». Вы можете даже объединить их с предыдущим абзацем. Главное, чтобы ваши мысли были четко определены и аргументированы.

• Заключение.

В заключении четко и ясно подведите итог сказанному, но все же повторите противоречащую тему еще раз, выражая некую надежду на ее решение.

Что я обычно рекомендую своим ученикам, так это составлять план вашего сочинения перед тем, как вы будете его писать. Самая ужасная ошибка - это писать наобум. Тогда вас ждут множество ошибок, а также полный разлад в мыслях.

План эссе «личное мнение»

Если же вам необходимо выразить свое мнение, то структура текста будет совершенно иной:

• Введение.

В этом типе сочинения начало идентично предыдущему: вам нужно просто определить волнующий вопрос.

• Выражение своего мнения.

Здесь вы высказываете свою точку зрения и даете несколько аргументов, почему же вы считаете ее верной. Не тратьте на эту часть все свои аргументы. Один или два вам еще пригодятся в будущем. Здесь же можете привести 2-3 аргумента.

• Выражение мнения, противоположного вашему.

У любой точки зрения есть противоположные ей аргументы. Вот и представьте их здесь. Меньше, чем два писать нежелательно.

• Ваши контраргументы.

А вот тут уже и используйте те пару аргументов, которые я советовала вам приберечь. В этом случае 1-2 будет вполне достаточно.

• Заключение.

Слова -помощники

Правила написания эссе - важный этап, но не менее важно использовать вводные конструкции и выражения, которые покажут ваш уровень владения языком, а также разбавят скучный формальный текст нейтральными фразами. Давайте посмотрим некоторые примеры с переводом:

People say…/ It is thought… - Говорят…

Firstly… / Secondly… - В первую/вторую очередь…

To begin with… - Начиная с…

Конечно, сказать с уверенностью, какие темы для эссе будут в этом году, я не могу, но по опыту могу сказать, что темы всегда общего характера. Причина этому в том, что на банковскую тему, например, мало кто сможет писать. А вот на общие тематики любой из нас может написать что угодно на основе собственного опыта. Поэтому вот вам предположительные темы для эссе:
